Old Bird’s Hong Kong Braised Beef uses a traditional Hong Kong recipe. The flavour develops by long hours of slow braising with daikon and a few essential HK seasonings including the Chee Hou sauce.
We reduced it to a sauce in Old Bird and pour over fresh Lo Mein (a type of HK noodle), accompanied with house-made pickles and steamed bok choy. As a Chinese comfort food, this braised beef is a great pair for all noodles, rice and mashed potatoes.
Defrost and pour the contents in a pot. Cover and bring to a boil. Leave the lid on and simmer for 5 minutes if you would like a beef noodle soup. Open the lid and simmer for 10 minutes if you would like a sauce consistency. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking and burning.
Keep it frozen until use.
